Literally a lifesaver

By Japan92254 from Cleveland TN on 11/25/2010

5out of 5

Pros: Non-invasive, Quiet, User friendly, Attractive Design

Cons: Dummy directions needed

Best Uses: MCS pet odors and dander, Anywhere

Describe Yourself: Value Oriented

Primary use: Personal

I have this product in my living room. It is very quiet and seems to be filtering the air quite nicely. Set up was easy but a few more "directions for dummies" would have been nice. When you are sensitive to everything - this purifier is literally a life saver.

Thanksgiving is upon us.

It probably seems as though I have been slacking but being down with my back takes it toll on me occasionally with a lack of spontaneous creativity.

It hit me 2 days ago that I wanted to try a particular style of card I had been reading about.  Embossing and sponging together.

Here are 3 of my newest.  I have 3 more Thanksgiving and then 3 Christmas.

Enjoy!

Geisha Girl makes an entrance

I made a card several months ago.  Lovely card. Lacking something though of which I could not figure out.  My sister said it looked like it had an Asian/Oriental theme.  I told her no, I wasn’t going to get into those themes like she did (She loves Asian themes).  Now today, I looked at that card and it said “Geisha”.  I tried to resist but found myself looking for cut files of an Asian silhouette when I came across this beauty on http://scrappedlives.nl/.  The owner was nice enough to allow me to use this on my card.  The final touch.  Now I have to beg forgiveness from my loving sister; then we can continue on our love of the orient together.

Moser Roth Privat Chocolatiers

I was  reading a review as I sat eating my Moser Roth Chili Chocolate Bar.  For me it is a treat beyond expectation. It melts in my mouths slowly, the chili is mild but I feel the tingle ever so slightly.  The dark chocolate is so satisfying there is no need to run and gobble the entire package; every other day is fine.  After a hard day of home schooling and greeting card making or embroidery and the child is outside playing and the hubby is not home yet, I sit down with a cup of my favorite joe and slowly nurse my chocolate.  Since I am super sensitive to fragrances (I have MCS),  this is my "Take me away Calgon" moment.

I made my purchase at Aldi's not expecting too much for the price $2.39 for 4.4 oz/125 grams but I could not resist the Chili flavor as it rare to find especially in the small town where we live now.  Our Aldi's just opened last week.  The packaging is excellent as the 4.4 oz pkg comes with 5 individually wrapped pieces inside

What a delight and what a bargain.

Birthday card for a University of Tennessee fan

A friend of mine is a a tried and true, bleeds orange, University of Tennessee fan.  I wanted something to do something to honor him (his wife too) so I was up late last night trying to come up with an idea for the card front.  I perused the collegiate websites looking for ideas.  I think I must have dreamed about this one as it came to me quickly this morning while having my morning cup-o-joe.  I hope they like it.  Now I have to get the brain going because my hubby was a bit jealous.  He too, is a die-hard UT fan; I have until December for his card though.

Plastic Medallion or Embellished Grapevine

I just did not want to go with $15/20 plastic medallion to go with our new ceiling fan in the spare bedroom.  I walked around Michael’s Craft Store thinking, and thinking when it hit me.  beautiful garland intertwined with grapevine and a few peach colored flowers.  I used an electric stapler to put the vines in place after intertwining the garland; then I hot glued the additional flowers.  Budget $10 for 10ft grapevine and $10 for garland with crystals.

Halloween Stitchery

Between homeschooling and resting I was able to clear my mind for a minute by stitching and chalking this great Halloween card.  It is a 5 x 7, sorta large, but I was excited to jump in and use one of the new embroidery patterns I just purchased from Advanced Embroidery Designs.  The had a Labor Day sale I could not resist.

Their Freebie pattern was great too and I have posted a pic of it as well.  It is a beautiful FSL Battenburg Flower Doily measuring  4.25 x 4.25 inches.

Friday afternoon craft

image

My daughter found this super cute fabric in Wal-Mart’s fabric department. She wanted a vest and thought this would look great. Easy pattern, but instead of making button holes, I used jean button/studs and closed it with black Velcro.

Halloween a little early

I had the Halloween bug this week and finished 4 four cards.  I used Sizzix dies and MTC files.
I scanned a stencil and turned it into an MTC file which totally inspired me for future cards.  I hope you like the cards.

Some of my Greeting cards

I just wanted to start posting pics of my cards. Maybe I can be an inspiration, or serve as a horrible reminder LOL. Anyway, this is fun and relaxing even with the extreme detail on some of the things I do.

Tuesday July 27

So much to say and so little time. My pain levels are around 8 9 or 10 constantly. Tried to work on my greeting cards today but got nothing done. I slept a lot today and stayed nauseous all day. Sadie insisted her friend come over, which was a welcome relief to her boredom.

My abdominal CT is Thursday morning 8:15 followed by MRI at 10 at the West campus. I am so tired and just would like to be pain free again. It's like the MCS is not enough of a problem it has to be exacerbated by high pain levels and high sugar levels and high blood pressure. I long for normalcy again.

If it weren't for the Grace of God I would not be able to make it another day.
